SPEAKER'S BIO
Salvador RIbas Mas
Cross-Cultural Expert
Salvador helps tech companies to improve the productivity of their teams by Cross-Cultural training and consulting.
As soon as Salvador started his career abroad, he realized that similar colleagues, partners and clients reacted differently before the same situation depending on their nationality. This challenge brought him to research Cross-Cultural Management and, eventually, to join Hofstede Insights.
Salvador holds a master’s degree in Psychosociology at Work, a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a professional certificate in training & development specialist. He is also certified in Intercultural Management with Hofstede Insights.
Using a data driven approach, Salvador can manage and control the impact of cultural differences at the workplace, helping his clients to be more competitive.
Before becoming an Associate Partner at Hofstede Insights, his appointments at Médecins Sans Frontières, the United Nations, the International Criminal Court and Melia Hotels International brought him to settle in Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia and The Netherlands aside of short stays in many other countries.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
There is no denying that SCRUM has revolutionised the way projects are delivered.
However, when it comes to implementing SCRUM in a multinational, multicultural team, organisations have faced some friction points and setbacks. One of the key reasons is that agile is experienced and interpreted differently in different national cultures.
For example, expecting all members of the team to speak up in daily scrums and take the tasks yourself is natural to certain nationalities, but comes across as a new way of working for many others.
An Agile transformation is culture-specific and to have an effective set up, teams need to know how to turn these differences into strengths rather than a source of misunderstandings and frustrations.
During this talk, you will learn how to master the cultural nuances of your team members regardless of their nationality. You will discover how to set up and manage culturally diverse SCRUM teams. You will find out how to manage the challenges of the virtual environment on the SCRUM teams. You will hear about how to set up and adapt culturally adapted SCRUM working practices for your environment.
You will become a tech team player without borders.
